PISE is the CNRS’s programme dedicated to promoting projects with social and environmental impacts.
Provisional timetable for 2026–2027
- Closing date for submissions: 11 October 2026, midnight.
- Eligibility checks by the institutions: 11 October at 6 November 2026.
- Shortlist: 1 February 2027.
- Selection Committee: the week of 22 to 26 March 2027.
Objective
The CNRS utilises a range of approaches (collaborations, business start-ups, partnerships with investment funds, licensing, vocational training, etc.) to commercialise research findings in collaboration with socio-economic stakeholders.
However, projects with a significant social or environmental impact that are not supported by traditional market mechanisms still receive insufficient support.
Through this call for expressions of interest, the CNRS aims to promote research findings that may have a significant positive impact on society and/or the environment, even though they do not fit within a traditional commercial framework and do not offer a return on investment that is typically predictable or identifiable.
This call for expressions of interest, which focuses on Projects with Societal and Environmental Impacts (AMI «PISE»), aims to address this gap in the CNRS’s research commercialisation chain.
