Registration deadline : 21 June 2026
- You are a PhD student in a research team at IRD or the University of Montpellier.
- Have you heard of sustainability sciences, which offer solutions to the major challenges facing our planet?.
- You know that these issues require an interdisciplinary approach… but you’re not quite sure how to go about it yet?
The IRD and the University of Montpellier invite you to explore interdisciplinarity and sustainability sciences through hands-on experience as part of a collaborative and immersive programme. This initiative brings together a team of researchers and experts committed to these approaches, under the auspices of the IRD’s Directorate of Training and Capacity Building and the Learning Planet Institute (LPI).
From 5 at 7 October 2026, at the University of Montpellier, come and experience interdisciplinarity in practice within a collaborative and international working environment. You will learn to better identify your own disciplinary frameworks — those that sometimes limit our ways of thinking — and to engage with other disciplines to build solutions together for a liveable world. You will also meet other PhD students from all over the world, working in fields you may not even know exist. Do you think this will be a waste of time for your thesis? What if, on the contrary, it were a way of giving it a new dimension?
