As a PhD student in marine biology within the MEB team, supervised by Christian Tamburini, my research focuses on the physiology of zooplankton. I am particularly interested in the effect of hydrostatic pressure during their vertical migrations, whether daily or seasonal.

By combining fieldwork at sea with laboratory experiments, I am seeking to understand how these changes in pressure affect the metabolism of vertically migrating organisms. This work forms part of a broader context: gaining a better understanding in order to better quantify the vital role these organisms play in the biological carbon cycle.
