Researcher in microbial ecotoxicologyI'm passionate about understanding responses of microbial communities to anthropogenic pressures. In the past, I've worked on the uranium tolerance in environmental bacteriaon the detection of antibiotic resistance genes at the end of the water treatment plant and on the degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by endophytic microorganisms poplar. Since 2024, I have been working on underground estuaries and their ecosystem functions (i.e. the MICROBEACH, MICROSHIELD and MED-GUARD projects).

Currently working on the international project MED-GUARD which focuses on the potential of natural filter beaches. Underground estuaries form an invisible link between land and sea and are fed by runoff from the catchment area and the recirculation of seawater beneath the beaches.

The MED-GUARD project aims to understand how the climate change and human-induced pressures (e.g. the UV filters) affect this ecosystem in hydrological, chemical and microbiological.
