This week, the intercomparison week for the SNO SOMLIT (IR ILICO). An essential component of the network for coordinating best practice amongst the 12 accredited marine stations, which have been monitoring changes in the ocean along our coastlines through their hydrological and biological measurements for nearly 30 years.
Sandra, Véronique, Morgane, Léa and Gérald took part in this annual event, collected various samples and presented their findings on the Bay of Marseille. Back at the laboratory, the analyses will be carried out and the results will be collated with those from other marine stations to ensure quality control of the measurements across the entire network. This is an essential process for ensuring high-quality, long-term measurements, which are freely available on request.
