APERO Campaign: Understanding how the ocean stores carbon

From June 2 to July 17, 2023, in the Northeast Atlantic, the oceanographic campaign Apero will take place, co-directed by CNRS researchers (LEMAR, MIO, LOV).

This campaign aims to study the "biological carbon pump", a phenomenon through which the ocean limits the amount of carbon in the atmosphere.

It should help identify the consequences of climate change on the ocean's ability to absorb carbon.
