BathyBot : awakening of a robot in the depths of the Mediterranean

BathyBot is the first deep-sea robot in Europe to be permanently installed at a depth of more than 2400 meters.

It has just begun its mission in the Mediterranean Sea and has revealed the first images of its environment.

Accompanied by an artificial reef and a battery of instruments, BathyBot will study the biodiversity, bioluminescence and biogeochemical processes of the sea floor.
