What is the ARTS programme ?
The Allocations de recherche pour une thèse au Sud (ARTS) programme supports PhD students from the South to carry out their thesis in alternation between an IRD laboratory and a laboratory in the South, in order to train the managers, experts and scientists of tomorrow.
Funding is granted for a maximum of 36 months, enabling doctoral students to:
- Carry out a thesis in a professional context;
- Access to the intellectual and logistical resources of co-supervision (IRD and a partner in the South), as well as a high-quality working environment;
- Acquire the skills needed to carry out research activities;
- Participate in cross-disciplinary training and networking activities.
