" Austral: those committed to the ocean »…continues his journey…"

Following the Quai de la Photo in Paris, and then the « Sharing the Sea »in Guilvinec, in Brittany, part of our exhibition « Austral: those committed to the ocean »will join La Ciotat and the Lumexplore Festival, dedicated to exploration, science and the environment “Austral: those committed to the ocean” will be performed in the yurt, in the courtyard of the Eden Theatre!

The result of a scientific mission aboard the Marion Dufresne Set in the Southern Ocean, this exhibition is the result of an art-science collaboration carried out between Stéphanie Jacquet, CNRS-MIO research fellow and Franck Desplanques, a photographer and documentary-maker, united by a shared ambition: to make the invisible visible.

By bringing together imagery and science, the exhibition delves into the heart of oceanographic research and the people who make it possible: scientists, sailors and crew. A human and collective adventure dedicated to understanding and preserving the ocean.

This new stage at Lumexplore This has a very special significance for Stéphanie Jacquet, as she also has the honour of having joined the Society of French Explorers (SEF), which organises the festival.

She is delighted to be joining this community and to share the values she holds dear: exploring, understanding and passing on knowledge, in order to spread awareness, broaden horizons and help raise awareness of and preserve our planet and its oceans.

What a lovely way to continue Austral’s journey!
