Exchange session: Maritime spatial planning on the Aix-Marseille Provence coastline
29 April 2026 - 2.00 pm - 17h00

Building on the research carried out as part of the Federico Fabbri’s thesis, the Mediterranean Coastal Human-Environment Observatory is organising a discussion session on Maritime spatial planning along the Aix-Marseille Provence coastline.
This meeting will take place on 29 April 2026, from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm, in the Zattara lecture theatre (16 Rue Antoine Zattara, Marseille).
The aim of this session will be to present the main findings of the research and to stimulate discussion with local stakeholders on the key issues relating to maritime spatial planning in the region.
The main points to be discussed will be:
- taking into account the opportunities and challenges arising from new uses of the sea (such as offshore wind power or subsea cables); ;
- the challenges associated with managing recreational activities in a context of overcrowding; ;
- the prospects for incorporating a maritime component into local spatial planning documents (e.g. the SCoT);
- potential synergies to be developed between public and research institutions: what needs have local authorities identified?
Participation is free, subject to availability, and requires compulsory registration (please register by emailing federico.fabbri@univ-amu.fr).
