Simu-data: Simulation data management

9 July 2026 – 10.00 am - 17h00

Practical information

The event will take place on the Jussieu campus, in the Astier lecture theatre in the Esclangon building, on 9 July 2026 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.

It will be face-to-face only.

For those who are unable to attend but are interested in the topic, Please do not hesitate to contact us so that you can send us your questions or comments. In addition, the presentation materials will be posted on the website at the end of the day.

Simulation data management

In a scientific context where numerical simulations are playing an increasingly important role, the management of the data they generate is a major challenge.

Often characterised by very large volumes and high computational costs, this data raises numerous questions: how to organise its storage in a sustainable manner, which data warehouses and infrastructure to utilise, how to effectively describe the associated metadata, and, above all, should the priority be on data preservation or the ability to reproduce the calculations?

The issue of reusing this data is also critical: how can we ensure that it can be reused, and what services should be considered to facilitate this?

The aim of this event is to explore these issues from a variety of perspectives. It will feature presentations from different scientific communities, thereby encouraging the exchange of views and interdisciplinary dialogue on strategies and practices relating to simulation data.
