The MIO launches the Cédric GARNIER 2021 Award of Excellence

This Prize of Excellence is awarded every year for the third time by the Mediterranean Institute of Oceanology (MIO) in memory of Cédric GARNIER, teacher-researcher at the University of Toulon, architect of the rapprochement between researchers from Toulon and Marseille and deputy director of the MIO, a specialist in environmental analytical chemistry, who died in 2018. Cédric GARNIER combined high scientific level, experimental rigor, generosity and great humanity.

This award recognizes the best record for the past year among PhD students, post-docs, permanent or non-permanent researchers under 40 years old. Among the evaluation criteria, we will note the quality and the production of the scientific work, the interdisciplinarity and the inter-team work, as well as the investment in the MIO collective.

The applications will be examined by the COMEX of the laboratory in mid-July. The winner of the Cédric GARNIER Excellence Award will receive the equivalent of 2000 euros, a certificate and will present his work at the award ceremony, which will take place in September.
