Aix-Marseille University invites you to a European conference on the challenge of protecting the oceans

After a first conference in 2019 dedicated to neuro-technologies, Aix-Marseille University invites you to attend its second European conference on June 16 dedicated to the societal challenge of "Protecting our oceans, the challenge of European leadership in the world".

The MOOSE-GE2021 campaign started on June 09, 2021

Several MIO colleagues are participating in this campaign on board the oceanographic vessel Thalassa
for 24 days at sea, 125 observation stations, maintenance of 4 moorings.

Ecological disaster in sight in Sri Lanka

Meeting the challenge of multi-contamination of Mediterranean waters

The Mediterranean basin is notoriously contaminated by products and residues from human activity. These contaminants are concentrated in continental waters (rivers, groundwater,...) which transport them to the sea. Until today, the study of water contamination was frequently approached in a fragmented way, either by study medium (surface or sub-surface water, ocean,...), or by specialties (biologists, ecologists, epidemiologists,...).

Online Event: Discover AMU's Institutional Institutes

Interdisciplinarity, pedagogical innovations, expertise to meet societal challenges: around 3 virtual round tables, discover the 16 institutes of establishment created to date, their concrete actions and the strengths they represent for the territory.

This digital event, broadcast from a television set on the Luminy campus, offers local stakeholders and the university community the opportunity to discover the uniqueness of the institutes and their positioning on the Aix-Marseille site.

Microplastics and nanomaterials: videos of the Anses & ANR scientific meeting

What do we know about the effects of microplastics and nanomaterials on health and the environment? In order to take stock of the advances made by research projects, the French National Research Agency (ANR) and the French National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (Anses) organized an online scientific meeting on Thursday, May 20, 2021, bringing together more than 500 people. SICOMAR-PLUS Summer School

The University of Toulon and the MIO organized a summer school on maritime surveillance as part of the European Interreg Marittimo project "Sicomar-Plus", involving 16 institutional partners and 5 local authorities between France and Italy including the Southern Region.
